Cinco de Barko Houston was one of the most adorable and fun events we have ever attended!

What pup could resist a Pup Cup?

Steve and I were so happy that we had returned to Houston in time for this joyful event. It was the second annual Cinco de Barko held on Saturday, May 10 at the Houston Bark Park and Daycare downtown. Since we are both lifetime doggie lovers, who are currently without a pup of our own, we relished the idea of being in the company of lots of canines.

I’m a cool dude!

From the moment we arrived we had happy grins on our faces. So many wonderful pups. Lots of different breeds were represented. And most of them were dressed in Mexican attire, but not all. Some were dress for a black tie event!

The event was free, fun and filled with activities. The dogs loved the Pup Cups which were merely cups of slightly sweetened whipped cream. They lapped it up with glee.

Off to the Chihuahua Races!

There were lush soapy bubbles to run through, Chihuahua races (and other breeds too), Splash Pads and obstacle courses. And they even provided swimming pools for the fur babies to cool off in.

Surrounding all of the fun activities were white tents with vendors selling pet clothes, accessories, food and treats; as well as information booths from Animal Hospitals and Veterinarians.

And what better way to end a day titled Cinco de Barko but with a piñata for the puppers to paw at? Such excitement when one of the dogs broke apart the piñata and tons of treats fell out for all to enjoy!

Yippee I broke the piñata! Let me at those treats!!!

I noticed, on the Houston Bark Park’s Instagram page, that they are sponsoring an event coming up on Saturday, October 18. They are about to have their 10th Annual Howl-O-Ween Bash. This event will be held at the Houston Bark Park and Daycare in downtown Houston from 11am until 2pm. If you are anywhere nearby, and you are a dog owner (or even just a dog lover like us) be sure to attend this wonderful event. If bringing your dog be sure to dress them up for Halloween!!!
