DeLallo Italian Marketplace was one of the two places, the other was Wilson Candies, that our friend Judi had been tempting us with before we got to New Stanton, PA.

Welcome to DeLallo Italian Marketplace

When Judi lived in Jeannette, where DeLallo’s is located, it was a tiny Italian grocery store with salamis and whole cheeses hanging from the ceiling. Well I have to tell you, IT’S ALL GROWN UP!!!

More food on display on the way to the deli area
The founders, George and Madeline DeLallo opened their little Italian market in 1950. It was located in the industrial town of Jeannette, Pennsylvania, about 45 minutes from Pittsburgh. They wanted to share their passion for food with the hardworking community.

Candy and Snacks

Jars of olives and pickles
Their belief was that each product should tell a story by delivering an authentic Italian experience. They made a promise to their customers that each product would be of the best quality and consistency. It’s the guiding principle to this day.

A teaser of cheeses

Salami, cheeses and fresh breads
I hope you are not hungry right now because by the time you finish reading about DeLallo Italian Marketplace, you will be starving!

Prosciutto, ham and so much more
Currently, the George DeLallo Company is still a family owned and operated business focusing on importing, producing and distributing Italian and Mediterranean specialty foods.

Lots of yummy prepared foods, ready to just heat and eat
They have production facilities and distribution centers all around the country. DeLallo’s offers Olives and Antipasti galore, Italian groceries, fresh produce and specialty cookies. (Steve and I can attest to just how delicious their Pizzelle are!)

And then come the cheese…

more cheeses…
There’s a team of culinary experts on board who are constantly creating innovative new products, researching the latest food trends as well as developing recipes that showcase those new products.

Yup! Even more cheese, including freshly grated parm!!!

The olive bar that’s like the Ever Ready Bunny – it keeps going…
From the moment we entered DeLallo Italian Marketplace I had a big grin on my face. I was like a kid in a candy store. This place is a chef’s dream! You can find anything and everything in this giant Italian marketplace. More cheeses, cold cuts, sausages, prepared foods, jars, boxes, frozen food, cookies, snacks, pastries and breads than you can ever imagine.

and going…

and going!
And don’t get me started on the Olive and Antipasti Bar! It is the absolute longest one I have ever seen. The best part is that every single item tasted as good as or even better than it looked. They even have their own olive orchard in Northern California and oversee every aspect of growing, curing, producing and packaging those olives.

Just a few more items

Still more jars of pickles, peppers and olives
The bakery section of DeLallo grew a bit in 2014 when they acquired a nearby family owned bakery that specialized in fancy tea cookies. Now the DeLallo commercial bakery offers a huge variety of seasonal, everyday and special occasion cookies. At DeLallo Italian Marketplace, the Three Saints Bakery features a fabulous self-service Cookie Bar.

Some cookies, including those amazing pizzelle

Prepackaged prepared foods, including olive bar items
Steve and I were so enthralled with DeLallo Italian Marketplace that we returned every couple of days while staying in nearby New Stanton. In fact we love it so much that we are returning to New Stanton for a week, just so we can go to DeLallo. And yes, it’s also to be with our friends Judi and Eddie. From there, G-d willing we will all be heading to the Jersey Shore for a few months.
