As I mentioned in my last post, we drove passed the Malcolm Gross Rose Garden on our way to the Allentown Art Museum.

Welcome to the Malcolm Gross Rose Garden in Allentown, PA
When we finished at the art museum, we stopped at the gardens on our way back to Ladybug, in Hatfield, PA. It was a gorgeous, sunny August day an quite warm. Fortunately there were plenty of shade trees along with a glorious array of colorful blooms.

Color for Days!

Elephant Ears
The Malcolm Gross Rose Garden offers up way more than roses alone! Paths lead you to something beautiful and different at every turn. Weeping Willows gracefully dot the landscape. And the setting is perfect for all sorts of photo shoots.

Red and Yellow Cannas also known as Indian Shot
While we were there, there were two different photographers and assistants snapping away at girls in pretty gowns. That added to our experience as we wandered along the garden paths using the time for a photo shoot of my own.

As we continued to explore the grounds of the park we found ponds and streams. Picturesque footbridges that would make a perfect romantic setting for wedding pictures. Everywhere we looked there was another spot that created an amazing backdrop for photos of any celebration.

The park also offered a cooling respite from the summer heat. Streams were an inviting spot for children to wade in and splash each other with the cool water.

Gazebo

Roses of Every Hue
Leafy trees created large shady areas on the velvety lawn where picnickers sat on blankets and enjoyed nibbles and beverages in the coolness that those trees gave them.

Weeping Willow

Sun and Shade
The Rose Garden itself was spectacular! In August the roses were in full bloom. Gorgeous roses in every color from white to yellow, and pale pink to deep red. Lush rose bushes in flower beds were flanked by arbors covered in climbing roses.

One Last Look
Dotted here and there were gazebos, sundials, statuary and a waterwheel. All of it created the perfect place to spend a sunny summer afternoon.
