After five years of staying at Three Oaks and a Pine RV Park we finally stayed somewhere else in the Big Easy. New Orleans RV Resort and Marina was where I really wanted to be staying all along, but we just couldn’t pass up the monthly rate at Three Oaks.

After tolerating a very sketchy neighborhood for all of those visits, we just couldn’t do it anymore! New Orleans RV Resort and Marina is considerably more expensive, but well worth it! The park has amenities galore, it’s huge, beautifully landscaped and in a peaceful neighborhood.

Not only does the park have full hook-up RV sites but it has tiny homes, cottages and houseboats available to rent. The marina offers direct access to Lake Ponchartrain.

Steve and I stayed at this park many years ago when we spent Christmas and New Year’s in New Orleans. I think it was way back in 2010 and the park was pretty new. In those days it was known as Ponchartrain Landing RV Resort and Marina.

Over the years it has expanded and is now owned by Applebrook RV Parks, the same people that own Atlantic Blueberry, the park we love at the Jersey Shore.

Some of the additions that made our stay so fabulous are the beautiful swimming pool and the restaurant and bar, fitness center and convenience store. While it was a little too chilly in December and January to swim the pool area was a gorgeous place to just relax in the sun. And the food at the restaurant, Lighthouse Bar and Grill was delicious and reasonably priced.

We spent two glorious months at New Orleans RV Resort and Marina with our dear friends Judi and Eddie. One of the best perks of RVing is making friends on the road and then meeting up with them for extended visits. While in NOLA the four of us hosted a holiday party at the park. We invited a few friends along with park staff. It was so much fun feeling part of the community.

We are already planning our next visit to the Crescent City, staying at New Orleans RV Resort and Marina with Judi and Eddie. This time we’d like to stay December, January AND February so we can be there for Mardi Gras!
