For a lot of people, the trouble with finding time, is that cooking can be quite a time consuming chore. Not many people want to come home after a long day and then stand behind the stove and cook for an hour or more. But cooking your meals at home is the best way to eat healthfully. Relying on unhealthy foods, like most take-out and microwave meals, is going to help you put on weight and start to suffer from other health issues.

So, let’s discover a few ways you can enjoy cooking a bit more:

Themed Meals

A great way to make meals a bit more fun is to have themed meal nights. So, you could have a night where you cook Chinese food, another for Mexican, and so on. If you have kids, you could all look for recipes together. You could even get everyone to learn a fact about the country of origin of the food you are making. Themed meals can be a lot of fun, and it is a great way to expand your culinary knowledge. Certain countries will use a lot of alternative ingredients from what you are used to. You need to make cooking a bit more fun to enjoy it more. Some countries dabble in much more color, so it looks a lot more interesting on the plate. So, investigate food from around the world and have a themed meal night once or twice a week and see if this works for you.  

Go Wild with Recipes

One of the reasons some people find cooking boring or a chore is that they always cook the same things. Cooking the same meals day in and day out can destroy your love for those foods and your love of cooking. What could be more satisfying than growing your own fruit, veg and herbs, and cooking with them? This is a great thing to do with the kids too. Planting some fruit and veg is a great way to enjoy the cooking process. Watching the plants grow and then harvesting them is all part of the experience. Even if you have a small area for a garden, you can develop a vertical garden, and you can always use your windowsill for tomatoes and herbs.
